| We took a trip to southern CA a few weeks ago to promote Half Ass Jig the movie, and Half Ass Jig the comic book. Our trip was sponsored by Jason Rinn (Chad’s brother). Thank you Jason!
We showed a clip at an IndieClub meeting at the LADV Expo, and got a great response from the other
Indieclub filmmakers. If you can check out
www.indieclub.com
in our
links section
below. It is a great website and a wonderful community of people. |
| We also passed out some self-published Half Ass Jig comic books at the San Diego Comic Con. We met some people from Troma films, and met a lot of comic book artists and
enthusiasts. It was our first year to attend and we learned a lot. We now feel confident that our movie and comic book Half Ass Jig will be a hit at the
convention next year. We also learned that it is a long
day at the convention and when we get a table and stay all
four days next year, we NEED to stay in San Diego. The
drive from Burbank would be too far every day. |
|
|
Over all we had a wonderful trip and are inspired to
finish this movie.
We are finishing up editing on the movie! Finally!!! We want to thank Ron Torres for his invaluable help at this final stage. Ron has provided technical support for the finishing of the movie (and he still likes us after spending 14 hours in a tiny room with us).
We have 4 weeks to completely finish Half Ass Jig. So please if you don’t hear from us (or haven’t for a while) know that we still love you. We are just in the final mile of a long marathon.
Also some exciting news- Jason Rinn is coming into town the weekend Of September 7th, to help us burn the movie onto DVD. It is so exciting because the first scene we shot (over 2 years ago) was with Jason
in it, and now he will be here to help us finish it up. Full Circle.
The first festival we are going to submit Half Ass jig to is Sundance (because if it gets
eccepted it must premiere there). The deadline is in early October, which is exactly why our deadline is so soon.
If any of you know any people, or have any connections, or just plain have some advice about film-festivals, keep us in mind. We are looking into SlamDance, Tromadance, Phoenix
Film Festival, San Antonio Film Festival, Seattle Film Festival. Basically we are going to enter festivals in
cities where someone we know lives, so that if they show the film there we can sleep on your floor after we hitch-hike there. (I am only joking about the hitchhiking!)
We will be sending out newsletters every couple weeks for a while. PLEASE read them. Stuff should be getting exciting soon!
Thank you all for your support!
Love,
Cecilia & Chad Rinn
